THE MANUAL - Shipping & Returns

 

THE MANUAL™ strives to deliver your home decor in the quickest and most economical way possible. We review each order individually, factoring in destination, weight and size of items. Shipping charges and delivery methods may be upgraded in checkout if consolidating items in your order will provide better shipping rates and times. The exact shipping amount for your entire order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. 

 Local In-home Delivery Details – Freight Packages over 50lbs

  • In-stock merchandise is usually delivered within 7-14 business days, though some areas may take longer.
  • For a flat fee per trip, we will deliver every piece of in-stock furniture in your order regardless of the number of items.
  • If your order contains both in-stock and back-ordered merchandise, we will deliver all items in one delivery so wait times might be longer as we will wait for all items to come in stock.
  • Multiple deliveries can be accommodated by request for an additional delivery fee.
  • Service is scheduled via dedicated delivery partners with no affiliation to THE MANUAL™.
  • Additional charges may apply to special warehouse and residential circumstances, including remote locations not readily accessible; please email Concierge@ShopTheManual.com for details about your location.
  • In-Home Delivery includes two-man service for sofas, delivery of the item across the first threshold of your household. No entry past the first threshold is made, no packaging will be removed, or set-up/installation is included.
  • Premium White Glove In-Home Delivery includes two-man service, placement in a room of your choice and removal of packaging.
  • Additional charges may apply to special warehouse and residential circumstances, including remote locations not readily accessible; please email Concierge@ShopTheManual.com for details about your location.
  • 1-2 days before delivery, you will receive a call with a 2-3 hour delivery time frame. Time frames are routed geographically and cannot be changed once agreed upon.
  • Deliveries must be changed or cancelled 3 days before your scheduled delivery date to avoid a $75 rescheduling fee.
  • Driver will not move existing furniture so please clear the area prior to delivery.
  • Person accepting delivery must be at least 18 years of age.

  Standard Home Delivery Parcel Delivery Service – Items under 50lbs

  • Items that are under 50lbs and meet certain dimensional requirements will be shipped via FedEx.
  • For items in stock, we try our best to ship within 48 hours of order placement.
  • You will receive a standard tracking number from FedEx.
  • All items will be shipped with standard Domestic Ground Service.
  • All FedEx deliveries will include front-of-home drop-off and do not include prior scheduling, nor will FedEx bring the item past the first threshold.

  Freight Service Delivery Fees

  • Charges shown below are based on the total value of merchandise shipped to each address.
  • All shipping charges include handling, order processing, item selection, packaging and transportation of items.
  • Additional shipping charges may apply to some items due to large size or bulkiness.

Delivery Accessibility

The customer is responsible for making sure the item can fit in the room of choice and can be delivered through all entry points by verifying building access and all doorway measurements. Outside access to the delivery area must be clear, and the inside area where the furniture will be placed must be accessible for placement of furniture.

 Order Changes & Cancellations

If you wish to change the delivery address for your order, please contact us before the item is dispatched to you (this is likely to be within 48 hours of you placing the order - we will send you an email to let you know when it has left our warehouse). If you need to update your delivery address once your order is already on its way, you will be charged a rerouting fee.

If you change your mind completely, we understand. As long as you cancel your order before it has left our warehouse, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your order once it has left our warehouse, you will be responsible for the shipping and return-shipping charges.

 Return Policies & Procedures

At THE MANUAL™, we pride ourselves on our craftsmanship and delivering the best quality furniture to our valued customers.  If you are unsatisfied with your purchase of a stocked item (non-custom order) not due to any manufacturer defects, you have 30 full calendar days from date of purchase to initiate the return with us (see additional rules for Premium White Glove In-Home Delivery service below).  Items must be received to our warehouse no later than 10 calendar days from return initiation, which means you must be able to meet our delivery drivers during the 10 day period at a scheduled time determined by THE MANUAL.  If your return is due to manufacturer defects, you must contact us within 3 days of receiving the item to your household, or refuse the delivery immediately in the case of selecting Premium White Glove In-Home Delivery.  As long as the item is received into our warehouse within above timeframe, is in original packaging, and free of damages, we will refund the full cost of your item minus a 20% re-stocking fee.  Returns due to manufacturer defects are not subject to a 20% re-stocking fee.  However, in both scenarios above, delivery fees both to your household and return delivery fees to our warehouse are non-refundable.  Return delivery fees will be equal in cost to the service you paid for outbound shipping.  

Please note that we cannot accept returns on gift cards or items damaged through normal wear and tear.  

We cannot accept returns on items that do not bear ALL original packaging, including packaging materials such as styrofoam or air-bagging.  Once packaging is removed from the product or your household premises by the delivery service, the item is voided for returns.  Please take this into account when selecting Premiere White Glove In-Home Delivery service and inspect all merchandise prior to the delivery service carrying and disposing of any packaging materials outside of your household premises. 

      • Original Receipt — Returns will be refunded to the original form of payment. Please allow at least 5 business days for credit card processing to show refunds on your statement once we receive the item to our warehouse and process the return.
      • Delivery Fees — Delivery fees are non-refundable and prior purchases are not eligible for price adjustments. THE MANUAL™ will schedule a pickup of the item from your household and upon receiving it back into our warehouse, will refund you the original purchase price of the item less the delivery fees associated with the return.  You will not receive a refund for the original shipping charges to your household destination.
      • Over $5,000 — If your return for merchandise exceeds $5,000, we will issue you $5,000 in Merchandise Credit towards a future purchase.
      • THE MANUAL™ does not accept cash or check as form of payment. We accept Credit Card, Debit Card, PayPal®, Apple Pay®, and Amazon Pay® only.  All trademarks associated with PayPal®, Apple Pay®, and Amazon Pay® are copyrights of their respective owners.

Regrettably, THE MANUAL™ does not offer Exchanges at this time.
